   HIMALAYAN BANK

Himalayan Bank Limited was established in 1993 by distinguished business personalities of Nepal, including Khetan Group, in partnership with Employees Provident Fund of Nepal and Habib Bank Limited, one of the largest commercial banks of Pakistan. It is the first commercial bank of Nepal with maximum shareholding by the Nepalese private sector. Besides commercial activities, the Bank also offers industrial and merchant banking.

The Bank at present has five branches in Kathmandu Valley, namely Thamel, New Road, Maharajgunj, Pulchowk (Patan), and Bhaktapur besides three branches and liaison offices outside Kathmandu, namely in Birgunj, Bharatpur, Tandi, Bhairahawa, Hetauda, Pokhara, Dharan and Biratnagar. The Bank also operates a counter in the premise of the Royal Palace. The Bank has a very aggressive plan of establishing more branches in different parts of the Kingdom in the near future. In addition, the bank has deputed its staff for overseas assignment in various Gulf and Far Eastern Countries.

The Bank was a pioneer in introducing technological based services, i.e. ATM, TeleBanking, Credit Cards etc. in Nepal.
